Affordable assessments provided by supervised graduate students

Hello!

Welcome to Insight Neuropsychology. We are a psychological group practice specializing in providing neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations. We provide neuropsychological services for aging, brain injury, and other illnesses.

Our neuropsychologists understand how deeply brain health affects every aspect of life. Given this, we also believe that the state of a person’s finances or lack of access to medical insurance should not prevent a person from accessing the benefits of neuropsychology. We also believe that as professional psychologists, part of our duty to our profession is to train and offer quality experiences to the next generation of psychologists.

By offering low-cost assessments provided by our graduate students to our local community we feel that we can be successful in both of these goals. We try to answer your questions about these assessments below, but please feel free to reach out to us for further information.

  • These neuropsychological assessments are conducted by advanced doctoral students completing externships or post-doctoral fellowships with Insight Neuropsychology. These are graduate students from a variety of local programs training in clinical psychology or neuropsychology.

All work is performed under the supervision of a licensed psychologist at Insight Neuropsychology.

  • Our students are trained to assess for a variety of conditions and needs, from concerns about memory aging, to brain injury or illness, to developmental issues, such as attention difficulties and learning disabilities. Our student are able to provide assessments of need for accommodations due to school difficulties.

Our student assessments are not appropriate for cases involving legal or forensic needs. These include disability assessments for Social Security, personal injury legal cases, or cases related to conservatorship or decision-making capacity in financial matters.

  • All potential clients will complete a brief phone screen to confirm the needs of the assessment.

An appointment will then be made with the clinician. Assessments appointments generally take 3-4 hours and include a clinical interview and administration of tests. This can be broken up over several sessions if needed.

Once the results are scored, interpreted, and a report has been written, a one-hour feedback session will be scheduled with the client, either in person or online. During this feedback session, discussion of assessment results, diagnostic impressions, and support recommendations will be provided.

  • The standard cost of these assessments is $450. Insurance can not be accepted for these cases.

    There are no additional fees.
